Kerry is an anglicisation of Ciarraí, itself derived from Ciarraighe, or "people of Ciar" the name of the pre-Gaelic tribe who lived in part of the present county. Located in Munster, Kerry faces the Atlantic Ocean and as a region on the extremity of Ireland, culture of Kerry was less susceptible to outside influences.

Special thanks to Platypus.
- Type 1 : Light, brachymorphic, developed browridges, high and straight forehead, broad cheekbones, very broad jaw, wide-set eyes, narrow eyelids, little nose
~ Borreby
This type is widely distributed across NW Europe and is particularly abundant in the British Isles.
- Type 2 : Intermediate complexion, leptomorphic, broad cheekbones, broad jaw, narrow-set eyes, long and convex nose, narrow eyelids
~ Keltic-Nordid
This type somehow shows affinities with dinaricized Atlanto-Med phenotypes of SW Europe. More classical and British "Atlantid" phenotypes are to be found note for smaller features and less robusticity (pointy chin, narrow palate, ...).
