If anyone is unfamiliar who Nat Turner is, he was a slave and preacher who organized a violent mob attack, and here's what actually happened:
"Under the cloak of night, he and his fellow slaves went house to house slaughtering every man, woman and child who had a white complexion. It lasted 48 hours and over 50 people were killed."
Here is an excerpt from the Wikipedia article on the life of Nat Turner.
"As they carried out their attacks, they initially used knives, hatchets, axes, and blunt instruments instead of firearms.[17] The rebellion did not discriminate by age or sex, and members killed white men, women and children."
If this was not infuriating enough that Hollywood would glorify a movie about killing women and children, entire families, for being white, there is even more.
The director (Nate Parker) is a rapist who refuses to take responsibility for it. He keeps saying that HE was the victim, because the accusations were "racially prejudiced" against him due to the victim being white.
Even a shrill far-left publication like Salon will not forgive Nate Parker for being a rapist even though he is black:
"In 1999, Nate Parker and his Penn State wrestling teammate Jean Celestin, who also has a writing credit on “The Birth of a Nation,” were arrested and charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault and indecent assault of a female Penn State student."
"Parker graduated and became a successful actor." while "The victim committed suicide in 2012 at the age of 30. Sources close to her say that she was never the same after the trial."
